Kalshi volume and fees, by category

Where the money is trading on Kalshi right now, across every category, and the taker fee that applies to each.

Volume and open interest are pulled from Kalshi's public API and refreshed hourly. Fees are its published rates, so this reads against the fees and rebates calculator. Kalshi does run a Liquidity Incentive Program (a per-market reward pool for resting orders), but its public API doesn't expose the pools the way Polymarket's does, so there is no live rewards section here; and it has no public trader leaderboard, so no trader section, unlike the Polymarket dashboard.

Count is active events in each category. Taker fees are estimated on the 24h volume at a 50¢ average price (the multiplier runs higher on crypto markets). Makers pay effectively nothing, since maker fees round to about $0, and instead earn from Kalshi's Liquidity Incentive Program, up to $1,000 per market per day for resting orders. The exact per-trade maths is in the calculator.

Liquidity rewards

Kalshi pays makers to provide liquidity through its Liquidity Incentive Program: a per-market reward pool split by how much resting size you keep near the reference price, capped at $1,000 per market per day, with a higher tier for designated market makers. Kalshi does not publish the per-market pools through its public API, so unlike the Polymarket rewards they cannot be shown live here.

The fee shown is at 50¢. The real one depends on your price.

Kalshi's fee follows a curve that peaks in the middle and fades toward 0 and 100¢, and it rounds up to the next cent. The fees and rebates calculator does the exact maths for any price and size, across Kalshi, Polymarket and six more venues.

Volume, open interest and category splits come from Kalshi's public trade API (events with nested markets), refreshed hourly and aggregated across its 837 events with recent volume. Fees are Kalshi's published rates (checked August 2026). Nothing here is a position of mine. See the full prediction markets directory for the other venues.
